Sports Coordinator



Youth coed recreational program designed for girls and boys to creatively introduce them to and learn the basic fundamentals of sports played on the turf and in the gym. Turf Titan activities may include t-ball, flag football, soccer, and tag. Gym Giant activities may include floor hockey, volleyball, tennis, and our Ultimate Ninja Warrior Course. The emphasis is to have fun in a safe, non-competitive environment. Parent participation is encouraged. Each session includes 8 classes instructed by CORE Sports Specialists. CORE Youth Programs are a variety of inclusive recreational sports designed for all abilities.

Audience: Pre K & Kindergarten (3 - 6 years old)
Sessions: Monday & Wednesday: 10:00am – 11:00am (registration by month, Sep. through May)
Saturday: 9:00am (only offered during Youth Leagues - 8 classes)

Bring your favorite blaster for a foam dart war at the CORE! The CORE will provide the foam darts, you bring your Nerf Gun, we all have fun! The Turf will be set up with our combat inflatables creating a fun war zone. CORE Youth Programs are a variety of inclusive recreational sports designed for all abilities.

Come join us every Wednesday to put your child’s agility, balance, and speed to the test on our Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course. Your child will have a blast as they jump, roll, and crawl their way through our course. Parental supervision is required at all times. Need help fulfilling the PE requirement for your homeschoolers? Come play with us in a fun and encouraging environment. Activities vary each class and focus on overall fitness, motor skills, and developing agility. Class structure will include a warm-up, activity instruction and play, and a cool-down. Instruction may include fundamental skills and play of traditional sports such as basketball and soccer with a mix of untraditional play like table tennis or our Ultimate Warrior Course. Sports 101 is a class focused on introducing different sports. Through the 4-weeks, the participants will have the opportunity to experience 4 sports (Soccer, Basketball, Football, T-ball [7-9y], Volleyball [10-12y]) by participating on drills to improve basic skills of each sport as well as games against peers. A CORE Sport Specialist will lead this 45min class keeping a fun learning environment. CORE Youth Programs are a variety of inclusive recreational sports designed for all abilities.

Join us for Adaptive Avengers, a recreational PE class for children with special needs (intellectual, physical, sensorial or a combination). An instructional program designed to give the participant the skills necessary for a lifetime of recreation and to enhance physical fitness and wellness. Sports and activities may include soccer, basketball, playground games, fitness, t-ball, and more. Parent or guardian participation is encouraged.

Audience: Children in grades K-12 with any kind of special need
Days/Times:Tuesday & Thursday 4:00pm - 5:00pm (year round monthly registration)

Come join us for Hobbs’ first 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball Tournament! This is an Open Inclusive Tournament, which means that all genders and abilities are welcomed. Both disable and able-body players are invited to play. We have a few extra wheelchairs, so reach out if you do not have your own wheelchair but are interested in playing in the tournament. All games will be officiated by a basketball official. Round robin play will be followed by a lunch break and a single elimination bracket. Awards will be given to the top 3 teams! Build a team of no more than 4 players and come join us for this one of a kind inclusive event! Spectators will be allowed in the event area for free.
Audience: all ages and abilities will be welcomed to the event

Are you looking for ways to stay active? Ways to encourage friendship through physical activity? Are you tired of having the young players running circles around you? Come play a variety of sports with us in a fun and encouraging environment. Sports are an excellent source of exercise and social interaction. CORE staff will be there upon request to help organize self-officiated games.

New to Pickleball or familiar with the game? Come help us showcase the sport to support it's growth within the community! Throughout the year we will be offering different formats of tournaments allowing players to have the experience to play different opponents. Tournaments will be self-officiated with the opportunity to learn more about the game of Pickleball. Player check-in will start at 8am and first game will be at 9am, unless otherwise advertised.

Audience: Coed 18 years of age or older, younger players can play with parental consent

Come work on you sport skills with us this summer at the High School Tasker Arena! Monday through Thursday, June 5th through July 13th. This is a free sport program open to any school age child of all levels of abilities. There enough space for everyone to participate. We will teach sport specific skills while having fun and burning energy. The schools will provide breakfast (8am - 9am) and lunch (11:30am - 12:30pm) for the participants.

Audience: Children in grades K-12 of all levels of abilities

5-on-5 semi-competitive league for adults 18 years of age and older by the even start date. League play is 6 weeks consisting of a round robin and a single elimination tournament. Awards for 1st & 2nd place teams. Games are officiated by certified officials. Registration is by team only. Play is 5-on-5 with a max of 10 players on a roster.

Audience: 18 years of age or older, 16 & 17 years old can play with parental consent

The CORE provides a variety of different programming, as well as other activities that are best suited for turf.

Some possibilities include: soccer, Flag Football, ultimate frisbee, golf, and more.

The CORE will be creating leagues for the public to get involved in, that will include both competitive and recreational divisions for both youth and adults.

The gym floor is lined for basketball, volleyball, & pickleball. Four-square and shuffleboard will also be available to play in the Gym.

The CORE has two racquetball courts. Both courts are equipped for wallyball.
